Almost Time to Vote
For those of you who are voting NRA members, I have an endorsement for you. Carol Bambery is running for re-election. Vote for her.
I’ve never met Bambery, so this is a rather unusual endorsement for me. However, reviewing her webpage and talking to a handful of people whose opinions I trust, I felt she was worthy of it.
Dave Hardy notes her remarkable work load. And I do have to say, checking it out, it does appear she is about getting in there and getting the job done. Currently, she serves on the Legal Affairs Committee, Bylaws and Resolutions Committee, Sport Shooting Committee, Women’s Policies Committee, Committee on Hearings, and the Special Committee on Concealed Carry. She is also involved in the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund and works with the NRA Foundation on their National Firearms Law Seminar.
Considering we need more pro-gun attorneys who really know and understand firearms legal issues in order to be prepared for future court battles, I’m a big fan of the Seminar. As for the Civil Rights Defense Fund, consider the cases they have supported, even in crappy states like New Jersey. They are supporting the effort to sue NY/NJ Port Authority for their violations of FOPA. They helped fund the lawsuit against Jersey City for their illegal one-gun-a-month scheme. There are many more cases, but they usually don’t get publicity for funding.
From everything I’ve heard from others who know the issues in the gun culture that need to be addressed and who work hard with true dedication to digging in and fighting to make positive changes instead of just holding the line, it seems Bambery is a great choice to have on the Board of Directors.
Now, the last person I endorsed came in 9th of 25. Let’s make that happen again.
