A Reason My Sig Rests on My Nightstand

April17

This horror story will likely remain fairly overlooked in light of what happened in Blacksburg yesterday.

Tied up and left to die in a burning apartment, a Columbia student used the blaze set by her sadistic rapist to free herself, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said yesterday.

“It appears she was able to escape as a result of the fire,” Kelly said. “She was tied, and the flame was used by her to break the bond.”

The 23-year-old woman, identified by sources as a student at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, endured 19 hours of rape and torture at the hands of a sick creep in her Hamilton Heights apartment Friday night.

In what Kelly called a “particularly vicious” assault, the fiend tied his victim to a bed, cut her, raped her, burned her with scalding water and chemicals – and then set the woman’s futon on fire to cover up the crime, police said.

He was so brutal he slit her eyelids, Kelly said.

The student used the flames to free herself and fled her fifth-floor apartment with her hands still bound to each other to get help from a neighbor, officials said.

Here’s wishing her the best in her recovery.  It’s quite a story that she managed to survive and that she had it in her to survive.

Simple shooting is too good for an animal that would do that.

Shoot the kneecaps and elbows, tie them up and make them suffer what they would make others suffer.

Amen, and here’s wishing the person responsible spends a lot of time in jail.

Inmates aren’t too fond of rapists, I hear.

And while I don’t (for reasons of the Rule Of Law) endorse extra-judicial punishments like hoping he gets raped in return, I certainly do endorse ones like living in constant fear of the other inmates and continual low-grade harassment and mistreatment by them.

That sounds just, and within the bounds of the law.

Good God almighty…Did they catch the piece of ****? I hope a big, brutal, 10 to 20 year convict with a taste for rectal invasion makes good use of the filth that perpitrated this sadistic act. I would not rest until justice was served, no matter how long the wait.

I have not seen any reports that indicate he’s been caught. He probably never will be.

As evil as this SOB is, your wishing for his extrajudicial punishment by prison rape is morally unacceptable. We don’t do cruel and unusual punishment folks, and making exceptions for inmates doing it to each other isn’t in the Constitution either. Occasionally our justice system makes mistakes and sends innocent people to jail doesn’t it? It could happen to you. Sure, low probability of occurrence – but then the shoe would be on the other foot, huh?

Low probability unless, you know, you pop a mugger in a self-defense hostile jurisdiction and a jury of your “peers” decided you didn’t take an avenue of retreat that was only available in hind sight.

I agree with RKV, prison rape is a serious matter.
