Kentucky Sounds Nice…
Maybe not, but it sure sounds tempting for a gun nut with this dilemma:
Gov. Ernie Fletcher owns guns. So does his Democratic challenger Steve Beshear. And so do each of their running mates.
In a state like Kentucky, where families commonly own guns, it’s politically wise for candidates to say they have a shotgun or rifle around the house and to voice support for the right to bear arms, said Larry Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia.
To some degree that is the case at the national level. While Democrats aren’t screaming they own guns, Romney is trying to fib his way into the hearts of gun owners. But Democrats are keeping quiet about the issue. No one wants to propose bans or registration. While that may mean some might try stunts should they take the Oval Office, they aren’t willing to fess up to it now. It wasn’t that long ago when calls for extreme controls weren’t uncommon on the campaign trail.
There are some state where there’s a long ways to go, but that’s no longer the norm. For that, we can celebrate.

I want a candidate who owns a gatling gun.
Hasn’t Obama been making some noise about a semi-auto ban?
Kentucky is also home to one of the (if not the) largest machine gun shoots in the nation.
