Ingredients for a Wine Spectator Award
- Word Processing Software (Preferred: Microsoft Word)
- Creative Imagination
- Worst Wine Spectator listings of the last few decades
- Blog (Preferred: Wordpress.com hosted)
- $250
Combine creative imagination and word processing software in small box (referred to a “computer” at some local markets). Mix until something resembling a menu forms.
Heat the WS listings until worst wines bubble to the top, add to another helping of word processing software until it forms a reserve wine list.
Post to blog.
Print menu and wine list, sprinkle liberally with $250. Submit. Your award should arrive in 2-4 months.
A real life version of this took place when an ambitious student decided to learn firsthand what it took to win a wine award. He created a fake restaurant and submitted the fake “bumbling” menu and poorly ranked wine list to wine a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.
