Heaven, in a Bowl
It’s hardly a drool worthy photo thanks to the fact that it had to be taken with my phone, but OMG, it will make make yummy in your tummy. (And possibly leave you speechless so that you resort to phrases like yummy in your tummy.)
This was our Snowpocalypse I treat. And thanks to the suggestions of commenters, I went with the smaller Ziploc bowls that one shared bowl is exactly one real-sized serving according to most ice cream serving sizes. I also modified the original recipe because I had lots of leftovers from the last ice cream batch – a basic vanilla that was actually our first with the new ice cream maker.
Now that we’re staring down Snowpocalypse II, I don’t think we’ll be making another treat. Sebastian should survive since he has his bourbon.
Nutella Ice Cream
Servings: 8
Inspired by Sugarlaws
2/3 cup Nutella
2/3 cup sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup half-and-half
1/2 cup light cream
1/2 cup milk
2 Tbsp vodka
- Beat all ingredients until mixed thoroughly.
- Chill until it’s as cold as your refrigerator can get it without freezing. (Rumors that we brought in a giant pot of snow, sprinkled liberally with kosher salt, and stirred until it was even colder than our refrigerator would take it are absolutely true.)
- Add to ice cream maker according to directions.
